Peter J. Tobin

Peter J. Tobin is the former Chief Financial Officer of the Chase Manhattan Corporation. He has led the company through several successful mergers and acquisitions in the course of its history. Mr. Tobin graduated with a bachelor's degree from St. John's University in 1965. In 2000, the university's College of Business Administration was dedicated and renamed in honor of his contributions to the Peter J. Tobin College of Business.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Tobin which served as dean of the business college from 2000-2004 was instrumental in the acquisition of the College of Insurance. The College of Insurance, which is located in Lower Manhattan, became what is now the Peter J. Tobin College of Business' School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial science -- and the university's first Manhattan campus. Mr. Tobin is still very active in the business community, philanthropy, and serves as a Special Assistant to President Donald J. Harrington at Saint John's University.
Tobin is a director of CIT Group Incorporated.
