Peter Hughes (born 20 May 1922) is an English actor.
He has extensive film, television and theatre experience as a character actor. He played a recurring role as a bank manager, in the BBC television series Bergerac and he played General Franco in Sir Alan Parker's film adaptation of Evita; a policeman in the 1987 John Boorman movie Hope and Glory (1987), and the P&O manager in the 1984 David Lean movie A Passage to India.
Hughes coaches at Ealing cricket club. He is married to Erica and their daughter Bettany Hughes is an acclaimed historian and their son Simon Hughes is a cricketer and journalist.
