Peter Hooton

Peter Hooton (born 28 September 1962, in Liverpool) was the lead vocalist of Liverpool-based pop group The Farm. He was also one of its founder members in the 1980s under the name 'Soul of Socialism'. Prior to his involvement in music, he had been a youth worker and edited the legendary magazine/ football fanzine, 'The End'. He has had many articles published in The Guardian, NME, Four Four Two and Loaded. He has just been involved in publishing a book about Liverpool FC's seven European Cup Finals called 'Here We Go Gathering Cups in May'.
He is married and has a son named Thomas and a daughter, Ella. He sometimes lectures at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded by Paul McCartney. He lives in Crosby, Merseyside, and remains a Liverpool FC season ticket holder. He is a regular on LFC TV and Radio Merseyside giving his views on football. His band The Farm have just recorded a version of Needles and Pins for the forthcoming No 1 Project which features Liverpool artists covering Liverpool No 1 hits from the past 50 years.
