Peter Holmes (born November 18, 1980) is an English footballer who plays in midfield for Rotherham United in Coca-Cola League Two.
Peter started his career at Sheffield Wednesday and was there for two years as a trainee, but moved to Luton to help start his career. With Mike Newell's trust, Peter has played for Luton for over 50 times in five years. Injury has beriddled Peter's career but he was a regular first team player in the 2005-06 season.
In January 2007 he joined League One team Chesterfield on loan a month, and then in March 2007, he joined Lincoln City on loan for the same duration of time. On May 8, 2007 Luton released Holmes after nearly 7 years with the club and he signed for Rotherham United on June 14. He got his first goal for the Millers, scoring a 30 yard screamer against Notts County.
