Peter Hide

Peter Hide (born 1944, Surrey) is an English born abstract sculptor, a pupil of Sir Anthony Caro who was known for his welded-steel sculpture.
He has worked in the assembled sculpture tradition of Pablo Picasso, David Smith and Anthony Caro. Hide is represented in many private and public collections throughout North America and Europe and currently makes his home in Edmonton, Alberta, where he teaches at the University of Alberta.
Some of Hide's students from Univ. of Alberta have gone on to continue the tradition of welded steel sculpture. These include Royden Mills, Ryan McCourt, Rob Willms, Andrew French, Linda Maines, and Tanya Wood.
