Peter Gordon is a chef who was born in 1963 in the coastal town of Wanganui, New Zealand. He moved to Melbourne, Australia, in 1981 where he worked for 5 years before travelling through Asia for a year and then returning to New Zealand. He then moved to London in 1989 where he has been since. In 1994 he was a bone marrow donor to his sister Tracey who was suffering from leukaemia.[1] In 2005 he was ranked as one of Britain's 100 most influential gay and lesbian people.[2]

Peter set up the first The Sugar Club restaurant in Wellington, New Zealand in 1986 followed by Notting Hill, London, in 1996 and West Soho, London in 1998. In 2004 he started set up on dine by Peter Gordon in the SKYCITY Grand Auckland, followed soon by Bellota in 2006.
