Peter Collins (record producer)

Peter Collins (born January 15, 1951) is a record producer. He was born in London. He moved to the US in 1985 to produce Rush. Also known as "Mr Big", he produced Rush's albums Power Windows in 1985 and Hold Your Fire in 1987. He was known as a pop producer back then bringing a more heavily synthesized sound for Rush. He also made one of the best drum recordings for Neil Peart on Power Windows. Rush later brought him back for Counterparts in 1993 and Test for Echo in 1996 bringing back a heavy rock sound for Rush. He has since produced records for Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Alice in Chains, Queensryche, Indigo Girls and the Cardigans.

In 1976 Collins was signed to Magnet Records and formed a group called Madison to perform his pop song "Let it ring" which reached 54 in the top 100. The four members of the group were Pete Collins, Ziggy, Peter Spooner & Cherri Gilham
