Peter Burt

Sir Peter Burt is a British businessman.
He was born in East Africa, but was educated in Scotland. He graduated from the University of St Andrews and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and later worked in the computer industry in California and Scotland.[1]
Burt joined the Bank of Scotland in 1975, working in the international and oil and energy department. He later became head of the international division in 1985, and treasurer and chief general manager in 1988.[2]
He served as a Governor of the Bank of Scotland from 2001 to 2003. The main events of his Governorship were the failed takeover bid for the NatWest Bank and the merger with Halifax plc to form HBOS. Following the merger, he served as Deputy Chairman of HBOS, leaving the board in 2003.
In 2004, he was appointed as a non-executive deputy chairman of ITV plc. He also serves as a non-executive director of Royal Dutch Shell[3].

Sir Peter Burt was Chairman of ITV plc, not Deputy Chairman. He also served as Chairman of Dyslexia Scotland and sat/sits on the Boards of a number of charities.
