In 2005, Berner made a one-hour documentary called Loaded Brush in which he interviewed artists who had entered the Archibald multiple times.[1]. He also painted numerous self portraits over the course of the documentary, with the intent to enter one in the Archibald Prize. He was not successful.

Berner is the number 2 ticketholder of the Melbourne Football Club, after he chose to support the team when he moved to Melbourne from Sydney (an NRL dominated state).

In 2008, Berner is the main host of The Peter Berner Experiment on Triple M, which airs weekdays from 3pm until 4pm in Sydney and is networked to Brisbane and Melbourne from 6pm-7pm weekdays.
