Pete Babcock is the former Director of Player Personnel for the Toronto Raptors from 2004-2006 and the former general manager of the Atlanta Hawks from 1990-2003. He is the brother of former Toronto Raptors general manager Rob Babcock. During his Hawks tenure, his teams made the playoffs eight times, but he is also known for making some questionable draft picks, such as selecting Ed Gray and Roshown McLeod in the first round, as well as the disastrous Steve Smith for Isaiah Rider trade which began a stretch of nine consecutive losing seasons for the Hawks, which still continues as of 2008.
