Petar Lubarda

Petar Lubarda (Cetinje, 27th July 1907 - Belgrade, 13th February 1974) was a Serb Montenegrin painter from Montenegro, considered to be an influential figure on post-war painting in former Yugoslavia.
He was born in Ljubotinj, near Cetinje. He studied painting in Belgrade and Paris. From 1932 until his death he lived in Belgrade, with exception of period 1946 - 1950 when he was professor at Art School of Herceg Novi. His work is inspired by Montenegrin history and landscape. He won many awards, in Europe, Brazil and on Tokyo Biennale.
