Addicted to Bad Ideas is the fifth album by The World/Inferno Friendship Society, and their first for Chunksaah Records. Subtitled "Peter Lorre's Twentieth Century", the release is a concept album inspired by the life and films of actor Peter Lorre. The song titles "'M' is for Morphine" and "With a Good Criminal Heart", along with the album's cover art, are all references to M, one of Lorre's most significant films. In addition, the album's lyrics are often taken from movie dialogues, notable Lorre quotes, and from the biography The Lost One: A Life of Peter Lorre by Stephen D. Youngkin.

The album is comprised of eight songs original to this release, along with reworkings of "Peter Lorre" and "Heart Attack '64" from Just the Best Party, and a reworking of "Ich Errinere Mich An Weimar" from East Coast Super Sound Punk of Today.
