[edit] Talk: Edit on Washington Star People
If you are the user who left the comment on Category:Washington Star People and took off my reference, I would like your view on why and what can be done to fix this.--Falconep (talk) 12:37, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Peripitus - I have been over the references you gave on what a category is and find no evidence that external links are inappropriate. What I DO find is that the Category: Washington Star People should be under parent "Washington Star" (along with the other parents), and that the alumni reference be a subcategory. I want to make sure that you're thinking is geared toward helping those seeking information, rather than a technical nuance that takes away the value of the entry.--Falconep (talk) 14:35, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Peripitus - Apparently you are not what you portray yourself to be. Calling my entries on Wikipedia "spam and trying to promote my website" is rather crude or maybe just rude. The wiki article: Washington Star and the wiki category: Washington Star People discuss WHAT my dear fellow? And what does my network do? It contains the best collection of information on those two topics,,, that's all! And on top of that, you're getting the information directly from the people the Wiki article references,,, not second-hand.
Are you suggesting that I re-invent the wheel and copy EVERYTHING from my network into Wikipedia to maintain it's PURITY? If I take your meaning correctly, then EVERY external link or resource or reference on Wikipedia is spam. Sorry Ace, if you want to help me put the references in correctly then I will gladly take your input as to how it should be formatted; but if you're merely some purist that has a twisted agenda, then I strongly urge you to bring this matter up with the powers that actually run Wikipedia and let them determine what is what! Until then, since you've NEVER worked at the Washington Star (as I and the members of my network have), stop undoing my work!--Falconep (talk) 17:58, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Peripitus - Wikipedia is not allowing me (Falconep), to log in so I will enter this anon. Quoting you "Category:Washington Star people is a list of people who have articles on Wikipedia who are known as working at the Washington Star - nothing more." This statement shows that you have no clue on the subject you are passing judgment on. The Washington Star ceased publication in September 1981; there ARE no people working there any longer. The Category almost certainly will never be added to again after such a long period. Those editorial staffers who worked for the paper ARE Washington Star People and now are known to be found on http://washingtonstar.ning.com which is a not-for-profit website and has no other purpose than to give former Washington Star People a place to gather. Those who are not alumni will not be allowed to join the network; so there is no profit motive to "advertise" on Wikipedia. Being the site administrator makes me the PERFECT person to post the reference on Wiki, no conflict of interest since I am the reference source AND I too am a former Washington Star staffer. All that the reference does is to give Wiki readers another reference,,, nothing more. If you want to see the hypocrisy of your claims, I strongly suggest you visit this site: [[1]] for he is without a doubt abusing the Conflict of Interest by promoting his website, his books, etc. Lastly, what I think would be wise for YOU to do is to read this: [[2]] since it's clear you are acting independently and not in the interest of people looking for information.--71.59.250.138 (talk) 20:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Anstey Hill Recreation Park
Hello, I am the GA reviewer for this article. I found it interesting to read and I'm impressed by the quality of the article. I have done some copyediting and listed some (fairly minor) concerns about the prose on the article's talk page. I have placed the review on hold for one week to allow these issues to be addressed. Pleas get in touch if you have any concerns. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 20:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Crustacean
It might be a slippery ride checking aquatic life forms for national appropriations i think it might be a road not too pleasant at least smelly :( or perhaps :) SatuSuro 10:20, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I am waiting for the suprise of the day i find 15 projects or more in a carefully hidden banner on a talk page - who to shoot (metaphorically) first will be the thought :( SatuSuro 03:36, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Adelaide tram maps
Hi, I love the two Adelaide tram network maps on the Trams in Adelaide page. I'm just wondering - how did you digitise them? I'm very interested in doing similar maps for the Brisbane network; I have a book Brisbane's Tramways - The Last Decade which shows the Brisbane system as of 1961, but I've got no idea yet how to make a presentable map out of it (copyright law prevents me just scanning it and plopping it onto Wikipedia). Thanks in advance for giving me some pointers. TripleThree (talk) 17:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've tried to address your concerns here. If you could take another look it'd be greatly appreciated.
I went ahead and copyedited as best I could.

- Please revisit this FAC and correctly strike or cap comments; sorry, but we can't have caps without sigs, since the only way I can then know who added the cap is by stepping back through the diffs, which is too time consuming. Caps are fine as long as you sign. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 20:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image ID
Hi, I just had a query about Image:Samphire_Halosarcia.png on my talk page and was wondering what degree of certainty you have on the image ID. I'm afraid that ID of glassworts is not one of my strong points Melburnian (talk) 12:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for that --Melburnian (talk) 14:03, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
