[edit] Orphaned fair use images

Please do not re-add the fair use images I have removed from articles. I removed them because they did not satisfy Wikipedia's fair use criteria, which states that fair use images "must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose." J Di talk 18:29, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue adding back images without any discussion, you may be blocked to prevent disruption. J Di talk 18:32, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
You're the one out of process. See Wikipedia talk:Fair use criteria/Amendment 2 and Wikipedia talk:Fair use/Fair use images in lists. - Peregrinefisher 18:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Inactive policy proposals and ongoing requests for comment do not overrule policy. J Di talk 18:36, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Except you're reading the policy in a disputed manner. - Peregrinefisher 18:37, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
How so? J Di talk 18:39, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

They are one screenshot per ep, which is the minimum when dealing with individual episodes. "Screenshots help identify episodes visually and identify key moments. Identifiying episodes and distinguishing between them are key reasons for having List of episodes type articles. Screenshots of television shows which are released for promotional purposes are more likely to be fair use, especially low-resolution screenshots. Many lists, including featured lists, currently use fair use images. Most if not all images comply with the current fair use criteria, are tagged with relevant templates (such as {{DVDcover}} or {{tv-screenshot}}) and provide a rationale on their description page." - Peregrinefisher 18:43, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I guess it depends on how the fair use criteria is interpreted... I don't have much of a problem with the image being added back to List of That's So Raven episodes, but I'm not removing the copyright violations again. As for the separate articles, I don't think the fair use images should be put back in them because of the FUC thing. J Di talk 18:49, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
I'll fix the copy vios. Did you remove all of them, or just the ones in the first two seasons? I can look at the history and see which one need ot be rewrittern. - Peregrinefisher 18:52, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
I did the first season and some of the second season. J Di talk 18:54, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:D&J episode list

There does'nt seem to be any redirections to me. But I'm just suggesting that all the "Season episode lists" be merged into one page, like many other episode lists. Quasyboy 1 January 2007 (UTC)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I'll try my best. Quasyboy 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Alright you're doing it, but the thing is I don't how to copy and paste stuff to different wiki pages. But what I will do is add small summaries to those episodes since I have seen every one. Quasyboy

[edit] Re: Nice rewrite on Ultimate X-Men (story arcs)

Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad we're taking up the cause of improving the article together. I think if we can get this article to rock if we can continue moving the arcs into the new format, rewriting the summaries with more of the style used in the History of the Ultimate X-men section, and find more sources per arc. It seems like sourcing more info per arc will turn around some deletes into keeps. The History section has a good style but I think we can definitely get more sources than are showing there already. fmmarianicolon | Talk 21:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I think you've got a great idea! We just need to be clear on the talk page why the information was moved. It looks like my work day will be slow today will be somewhat slow now that I've jinked myself and my coworkers (D'OH) so I'll have time to do some editing. fmmarianicolon | Talk 16:48, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I thought about it, and some editors may consider blanking the page as vandalism even though it's in good faith. We should probably go section by section. I tried doing the BlockBuster story arc today, but for some reason my head was hitting a wall when trying to improve it. fmmarianicolon | Talk 23:45, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rename

I have renamed you, as requested on WP:CHU. Warofdreams talk 04:11, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your nice defense of Robin (Earth-Two)

Appreciate your kind words relating to the content of this page. NetK 06:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree with you...the same principal should apply to the various Ultimate characters attaining their own articles. Please let me know which are created and I'll lend my support to them. NetK 17:29, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Movie studios

In the movie studio articles, mentioning notable movies within the body of the article is fine, but lengthy lists don't add much to an article except to make the reader's eyes glaze over (Wikipedia is not a directory, etc.). Having said that, something like List of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer films, if kept to a manageable length, would be okay. —tregoweth (talk) 08:43, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I would split it off, since there should still be a Warner Bros. Pictures article, even if it's not quite written yet. —tregoweth (talk) 09:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Canadian TV shows

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Canadian TV shows! I've just started this wikiproject to help fixup and organize Canadian TV shows, because they could really use it. Right now I'm focusing on getting the project up and running, but any help you can give would be appreciated. JQFTalkContribs 20:15, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Epsidoe titles

For now, this is all I've seen of the episode 291/293 title: [1] Also, ANN has the same title up, as well as the Japanese text which matches the preview. As for the two specials, Toei's site is still numbering the first special as 291, but I've been waiting to see if they change it, because official sites have changed the episode numbers around before (TV Tokyo's Naruto site has done it before). If they add the second special as 292 and keep it there, I guess we'll have to add them to the list anyway. The Splendiferous Gegiford 20:25, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Farscape episodes

I have finished creating either articles or simply the place holders for all of Season one if you can add some more screen shots. What is needed is far more help to expand the synopsis and add production/series details.

I put a plea up on IMDB. Not really plugged into that fan world (although a friend of mine co-owns www.farscapeworld.com), so I don't know where to find the bulk of online Farscape fans who could contribute. Ideas? RoyBatty42 19:31, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox and Images for My Name Is Earl

I have uploaded images for episodes 1-31 and 36, Ive added these images to the list page and the actual description pages. --PunisherWolf 04:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A Favor

Could you please add the Fair Use rationale for this image Image:Phil of The Future s02e13.png like you did for the other POTF images? I already added the copyright tag so all you have to do is put that down. That very image was uploaded by TSLcrazier who forgot to put down the mandatory info for uploaded images. Quasyboy 2:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Update on long synopsis

Hi, I am sure you would find this by yourself anyway, but since you showed interest in the relevant discussion, I thought I'd let you know there has been some progress on collapsible sections. It's all in WP Films talk and would appreciate your comments. Hoverfish Talk 22:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. Actually I did it because I hated to see the incomplete summaries. It's because of people like you that I like doing it and take my time to do it also.

[edit] Sorry about the info :)

I usually write them myself. But today its a lazy day. I love supernatural and Since i added all the images fixed up a few problems and errors and spelling mistakes I thought id continue on with adding more information to the upcoming episodes.

I'll rewrite them next chance I get.

[edit] Bones episode summaries

Hello. You just removed some episode summaries from List of Bones episodes, stating that they were "copied from other sites". Can you tell me which sites they were copied from, please? (direct links would be appreciated.) Thanks. Mike Peel 20:41, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:TSLcrazier

I'm trying to see if I can sort this user out... but to be honest, if he continues with his disruptive behaviour and refuses to communicate then there may eventually be no option but to block him. Clearly we're not there yet, but I'd hate to see that happen. I wonder why he won't talk? I don't think I've ever seen him communicate with another editor. Unfortunately, I had to call in other administrators on the matter, see WP:ANI#User:TSLcrazier. Thanks. --Deskana (request backup) 17:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I think we might have another sock of him, User:Tsr neiva. I think this user may be making an array of sockpuppets. I've seen i think 2other users with the same editing styles as him. (User:Chirchona for one). Just wanted to let you know so you can keep your eye out. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 14:27, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Admin to Bureaucrat

I was reading your RfA, and you said that you thought most bureaucrats started out as admins. ALL bureaucrats start out as admins, it's an essential step. Not all admins choose to become b-crats, though. If you are using your RfA as a stepping stool just to change names, you should consider withdrawing until you get a better idea of what adminship is.--CJ King 01:57, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. Changing usernames isn't a large of part of me wanting to be an admin. It's mostly about page histories and speedy deletes. I guess I am getting ahead of myself a bit though, and maybe shouldn't have included that statement since it doesn't seem to be relevant. Should I remove it? It seems like I should leave the top of the page alone since that's what the current votes are responding to. - Peregrine Fisher 02:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] TSLcrazier & American Dragon: Jake Long

I'm pretty sure we've talked before, but not about American Dragon: Jake Long. I'm not so sure I can collaborate with you, but I'm willing to give it a shot. What I'd like to know is how TSLcrazier was able to add two different images for his original version of Adventures in Troll-Sitting/Fu Dog Takes a Walk. It might be helpful in other episodes that are paired up shorts. DanTD 16:47, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Good idea about redirecting those two episodes. The original version of Adventures in Troll-Sitting/Fu Dog Takes a Walk had an image for "Adventures in Troll-Sitting," and a second image plate below it for "Fu Dog Takes a Walk." I never got a chance to save it before it was deleted, so I can't show you what I'm talking about. DanTD 17:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Voyagers episode list

I do have all of them on tape so the info is accurate. I also tried to account for mistakes made by them (the show) like the Mary Murphy thing. Thanks Voyager Fisher.

[edit] A question

Hi Peregrine Fisher

I have noticed it is possible to upload pictures on English Wikipedia instead of Wikimedia Commons, using the so called Fair Use doctrine in USA. I was wondering if you are allowed to use this doctrine on English Wikipedia, although you are a resident of Norway, since the English Wikipedia is hosted on servers in the USA. I have discovered it is not possible to make use of any "Fair Use" on the Norwegian Wikipedia, and I therefore lose the possibility to use many great pictures in articles I am writing there. Hopefully I will be able to upload pictures on English Wikipedia for the articles I am planning to write here.

Hoping you can give me an answer to this, as it has been confusing me a bit for the last weeks.

[edit] re List of The Buzz on Maggie episodes

Could you undelete List of The Buzz on Maggie episodes? I'll remove all the text so that it isn't a copy vio of TV.com. Thanks, Peregrine Fisher 23:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Just recreate it from scratch, the copyvio versions must be deleted from the history per policy. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 16:45, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyvios

Pilot (Big Love episode) - I've listed this and what appears to be the entire first season of the show at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2007 February 7/Articles because the synopsis you added are all blatant copyright violations. John Reaves (talk) 08:04, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I copied it from the associated list of episodes page. I'll be more careful. Thanks for pointing it out. - Peregrine Fisher 04:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

How do I link a quote to a footnote?

[edit] New template

I've created a new template for tv screenshots that you may be interested in: {{Information TV series screenshot}}. I've converted all your 30 Rock episode screenshots to this template. [edit] Joachim (Star Trek)

You marked some images in Joachim (Star Trek) as replaceable. They are images taken from film and TV of a character so they cannot be replaced, not of a living actor or whatever you're thinking. - Peregrine Fisher 04:20, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Well they are pics of a living actor. The argument that they are irreplaceable is false, there is a replacement image of the actor playing that particular character on the actor's article Judson_Scott. The pics I marked are copyvio screencaps from a movie. I'm not sure if I did it the proper way, I'm new to tagging images, any advice would be appreciated. Cheers. Hey, I was just wondering, why did you stop uploading screencaps from episodes of 30 Rock? - Fernandobouregard 11:02, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Film-editor-stub category

User:Luigi Bob has recently been creating articles on some notable film editors and has brought it to my attention that a stub category doesn't exist for film editors. As film editors are a part of film and help to rid of red links in films please lend your support or opposition at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. There are hundreds not stub categoirzed as editors and there are many many missing from wikipedia and I beleive they are an important part of the film making process. This template is actually a bit historic. See: Wikipedia:Filmographies --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 19:48, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Does that mean I shouldn't mess around with it? - Peregrine Fisher 19:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Not really, but since none of that stuff is actually in use, it's not very usefull either. :D Note that there are a couple more like those filmography templates named on WP:TV. --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 20:14, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 30 Rock template

I guess that you're right and that we don't need both. Get rid of the nav bar if you'd like to.

Also, if you continue do screencaps, would it be at all possible for you to get screencaps of Pete, Frank, Josh, or Toofer? I'd like to add pictures into their character pages. -- Fernandobouregard 21:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big Wolf on Campus

I'd love to team up on the page. As you might have been able to tell... I'm kinda new to this. Right now I'm rewatching each episode to do the short summaries. After I finish going through those I'll try to expand on each individual episode including the movies and television shows they reference in the episode.

I changed it to the template which is a whole lot easier to edit.Ankhet 01:37, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Conan template

I like this template much better than the one that was previously on The Hour of the Dragon as it now doesn't conflict with other infoboxes. The size doesn't bother me. You could reclaim a little space if you lumped collections and novels together and called them books, but probably not enough to be worth it. Overall, good work.--Rtrace 22:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] BWOC

Okay, I have a few problems with your actions recently. First, your comment to Ankhet concerning my redirects is really incivil. I had no idea there's a disputed policy anywhere. Most of my edits were to rename articles per the WP:NCTV ("episode" should not be used in disambiguations, and several of the red links were unnecessarily disambiguated). However, looking at the length, it's better right now to work on short summaries in the list article, and perhaps set up redirects that can then be worked into full-fledged articles.—Ryūlóng () 03:34, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Yep, it's not looking good: It seems you want to defeat the major operative purpose of a table: putting things into nice columns. Would you point me at the specific problem you're addressing? Maybe I'll see another approach. —EncMstr 05:33, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
