Harold Norman Lawrence Perkins III was born March 19,1987. He is the son of Harold Perkins Jr. and Tina-Louise Perkins {nee Gonzon}. He is mainly of Italian and Polish decent. He was born in Elkins Park, PA, a suburb just outside of Philadelphia but has resided in Philadelphia, PA his whole life. He is the oldest of the three children. His brother Thomas was born March 2,1989 and sister Taylor was born March 10,1994.
Working:
On February 10,2003, Hal Perkins was hired to work at Thunderbird Lanes and still works there to this day.
School:
Perkins attended Sunshine pre-school two years before Kindergarten. After pre-school, Perkins attended Christ the King Elementary School from kindergarten all the way through eighth grade. Perkins then went on to attend Father Judge High School and graduated with honors. Perkins received a four-year scholarship worth seven thousand a year to attend Holy Family University. Perkins struggled to make the jump from high school to college, eventually dropping out after one semester. Pressure and lack of motivation are said to be the causes for his college struggles. However, he plans to attend Community College of Philadelphia in January 2007 with a new attitude and desire.
Bowling:
Perkins has always been an avid bowler. He typically bowls higher scores on synthetic lane surfaces as opposed to wood surfaces. In Perkins' four years at Father Judge High School, he was on the bowling team every year. Freshman year, he tried out and was the last person to get cut. However, due to someone who made the cut's academic troubles, Perkins was placed on the practice squad to fine-tune his skills. He remained there the whole season. The following summer, Perkins joined an intense bowling camp to improve his game. Sophomore year, Perkins returned and dominated in tryouts. There were three days of tryouts, Perkins bowled extremely well on the first day and was told to return the following week for practice. Perkins struggled there after however. He made jv and was a solid force with a 175 average but did not see any time on varsity. The summer afterwards, Perkins returned to the intense bowling camp which vastly improved his game from the year before. Junior year, Perkins did very well through all three days of tryouts. He finished with an average of 181 average on jv and 178 average on Varsity. He mainly bowled on jv but he did see some valuable experience on Varsity. Judge won the championship that year against St. Josephs Prep. Perkins bowled the last two frames of the championship match after the championship was well-decided. An early-season individual high light came against arch-rival Archbishop Ryan in the first game of the season. Perkins jumped out of the gate firing as he struck the first nine in a row. However, he left a 6 pin and failed to convert, leaving with an impressive 267 game. Senior year rolled around and Perkins again had a very successful tryout. This time however, Perkins was starting varsity. When Perkins struggled, he was sent down to jv to try and iron his struggles out. Through the first half of the season, Perkins led the northern division with a 198 average and was second in the Catholic League. In the second half however, Perkins struggled and returned to earth, finishing with a very respectable 188 average, earning him second-team all-catholic.
