I'm not sure what information about Kabaddi is doing in a page about Perungudi. Also, I think we can add information about the fact that Perungudi is now host to several I.T parks. --Madhu 14:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

I have just removed this info from the 'Elections' section under 'Administrative'. I request anyone who feels this belongs to an encyclopaedia to please explain their stance before re-inclusion. "The post of panchayat head was held by Kothandaraman, the president, without any elections during the period. The elections were frequently prone to violence. Kandhan, the current incumbent and former bootlegger, has been in power for 12 years (since Kothdanaraman lost the election in 1994). He is known to have personally orchestrated booth captures during the local elections. Having been around in power for 12 years and did very little for improving the infrastructure in Perungudi Kandan has earned the wrath of local residents. Some of the popular regular contestants to the local elections include Thanagavel Nadar, and Sundaresan, who although never having won, have tremoundous political clout in the area." --Madhu 07:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
