[edit] Airport?

Question: Does Pereira have an airport ? If not, how far is it to Manzales where I know there is an airport? benkramer1@yahoo.com

Yes, Pereira's international airport (MatecaƱa, spanish for sugarcane plant)is the largest airport in the coffee zone in Colombia, and it is common for travelers going to Manizales (1.5 hours drive) or Armenia (1hr drive) to land in Pereira if they come from international destinations, or if they just want to take advantage of a specific flight schedule. davegonzalez@gmail.com

pereira does havve a name and its known around the world by the name of aeropuerto matecana de pereira,

MatecaƱa actually means "killed sugarcane" because there use to be a sugarcane field that was striped in order to build the airport and zoo which now stand today.
