Perversion of religion was a term coined by Immanuel Kant,perhaps one of the most religion friendly of the modern philosophers .He identified the problems in incorrect interpretation of religion in his classic Critique of Judgement(Chapter 2,para 28) [1]
and broadly suggested the following major problems;
a.Theosophy-which according to him alluded to the practice of obfuscating religious doctrines by wooly concepts.
b.Demonology-which according to him was the tendency to see Supreme Being in anthropomorphic terms
c.Theurgy-which according to him is the belief that one could physically communicate with Supreme Being.
c.Idolatry-which according to him is the belief that one can be in communion with the Supreme Being by practises other than personal morality.
