Perth High School is a six-year, non-denominational comprehensive secondary school in Perth, Scotland.

The school opened in 1971. It stands in extensive grounds occupying a position on a hill overlooking the Glasgow Road.

The buildings consist of a complex centred on a five-storey main teaching block. Perth High School is the most populous secondary school in Perth and Kinross with over 1600 pupils.

In mid 2006 Perth High School had a total redecoration of the concourse within the main building. All the old windows were replaced. In the concourse area the old benches were taken out and replaced with cathedral-style U-shaped benches. Underneath the maths department the area has been enclosed to provide a seating area, which is used by the 5th- and 6th-year pupils.

There are over sixteen different subjects at Perth High including Art & Design, Business Education, Classics, Computing studies, English, Geography, History, Home Economics, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Modern Studies, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education, Science, Social Education and Technology.

In June 2003, the school was awarded a Green Eco Flag for "the excellent condition of the school grounds, the efficiency of paper recycling, the amount of litter there was on the school grounds, conservation of electricity and ensuring the pupils know about the benefits of healthy eating." It is the third school in Scotland to receive the award.

[edit] Uniform

All pupils at Perth High School have to wear a tie with blue, black and yellow stripes, and the tie must be no lower than the second button of the pupil's shirt. They must also wear black trousers and shoes.
