Permanent Change of Station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is a U.S. military term referring to being "permanently" moved to a new post or unit on the same post/installation. Sometimes people use it as a verb, ie. We will be pcsing to Japan. Given the frequency with which military personnel are moved between stations the word "permanent" may be regarded as a term of art.
The Defense Finance and Accounting Service provides a website which contains useful information related to Permanent Duty Travel and Permanent Change of Station for government civilian employees.
