[edit] The meaning of "Perlachturm"

The origin of the name "Perlach" is unknown, there are different opinions about. The conventional wisdom is, that it came from the middleage shows on the place with wild bears. Per means in Old High German bear and lach describes a show. An information board in the tower himself says, it came from the latin "perlego" (read through).
