Periyanna

Periyanna is a Tamil film starring Vijaykanth and Meena, Suriya who killed the bad guys who killed his family and has been sent to jail,during his time in jail a well respected collector celebrated his daughter's birthday in the jail, who was attracted by the singing talents of Surya convinced her father to grant a special permission to learn music from him. During this time they fall in love with each other and as opposition grows from both the girl's parents and the police department they eloped. They came to a remote town where they witnessed the murder of a collector in the railway station in a broad daylight and no seems to care about it. Then they saw the man who killed the collector is the chief of the village and tries to oppose him, during this time they learned about his past life and had a good rapport with him and he vows them that he'll get them married. The movie moves towards the climax as whether the village chief is successful in getting those two lovers married or the girl's father successful in separating them using the legal system against them.

It was directed by S.A. Chandrasekar, actor Vijay's father.
