Peridiscaceae is a neotropical family of flowering plants, consisting of 2 monotypic genera from Amazonia, but according to Soltis et al. the genus Soyauxia from Africa should be placed in this family. [1]
In the Cronquist system, this family was classified in the order Violales and in APG II in Malpighiales, but nowadays should be included in Saxifragales.[1] [2] [3]
