Periş

Periş is a commune in the far northwestern corner of Ilfov county, Romania. The population of Periş, in 1992, was 7,154, with a total of 2,800 households (average household size -- 2.6 persons). In Romanian, its name means "a place where pear trees grow".

Periş' geographic coordinates are 44.68°N, 26.01°E. The surface area of the commune is 77.97 km², and its altitude ranges from 105 to 137 m above sea level.
