From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Perguruan Pencak Silat Padjadjaran Nasional (also: Padjadjaran; P.P.S.P.N.) is a style of pencak silat originating from Western Java, Indonesia. The style was founded on december the 12th 1928 by eyang guru K.R.H. Achmad Kartakusuma. The immediate predecessor of P.P.S.P.N. was a traditional style called Pusaka Karahun (meaning ancient relic), but after the death of the Guru Besar (head master) K.R.H. Achmad Kartakusuma did not think himself competent to take over the task of Guru Besar. K.R.H. Achmad Kartakusuma searched for some years for new skill and created a new style (P.P.S.P.N.) out of 5 other Western Javanese styles: Serak, Sabandar, Cikalong, Cimande, Depokan.
