Pere Marquette State Trail

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pere Marquette State Trail is a bicycle and multiuse trail in west-central lower Michigan, running 55 miles through Clare, Lake, and Osceola Counties.[1] Intersecting with the White Pine Trail in Reed City, the trail is paved in areas, particularly between Reed City and the Village of Hershey,[2] with a ballast or cinder surface elsewhere. The Pere Marquett State Forest and the Hersey and Muskegon Rivers can be seen from the trailside. The Pere Marquette State Trail is open to non-motorized uses.

The Pere Marquette State Trail may be confused with another trail of similar name, the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, also in central Michigan, with which the Pere Marquette State Trail may one day be connected.[3]
