Per Karlsson (born January 2, 1986 in Stockholm) is a Swedish football player. He came through the rans at Solna-based club Vasalund and was picked up by fellow Stockholm side AIK as a teenager. After coming through the academy at AIK he secured a regular starting-spot at AIK in late 2004, but broke his leg in beginning of 2005 which ruled him out for much of that season. After working his way back to full fitness he broke his arm while on loan at FC Väsby United. Recalled for the 2007 season he is looking to compete for a regular starting spot in the hear of the defence, but the competition is fierce.
Karlsson is quick, agile and reads the game well and has represented Sweden at all youth-levels but U-21, which is said to be his next target. Gathering experience on loan at Väsby in 2006 he now consider himself ready to battle with the more experienced centre-halves at the club and is for sure having a bright future ahead of him if he keeps improving.
