[edit] Cowboy
I'm too green to rub anyone's rubarb wrong, could someone consider adding a Cowboy occupation?--Loganis 19:42, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] psychoanalyst
A psychoanalyst is a psychoanalyst - not a psychologist or psychiatrist - although he can be both or maybe one of them.... -- Robodoc.at2 11:50, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sports
There are two categories, Sports occupations and People known in connection with sports and hobbies, which as far as I can tell are about the same thing. I prefer the first name although that raises the question of what to do about people known for their hobbies (stamp collecting seems to be the only hobby in there). I don't see why hobbies should be grouped with sports anyway. Also Sports occupations wouldn't include amateur sports, so I think just Sports would be better. Then we could add a catagory called Hobbies. If no one objects, I'll make the changes. --JeffW 12:28, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
I feel like I'm talking to myself but I thought of a better name than Sports for the category: Athletes. Athletes matches better with the other category names like Accountants or Explorers in that it describes a group of people by what they do. A downside is that it shouldn't include all the sports-related occupations like Coaches and Refs. --JeffW 23:56, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleaned up the category
FYI I just finished removing and moving a bunch of categories that appear under subcategories of this one. Generally things should not appear both in this category and an occupational subcategory. For example, actors, musicians, jesters and such all should appear under Category:Entertainers and not directly in this category. This is consistent with the common rule that categories and articles shouldn't appear in both a category and its subcategories when the subcategories completely divide the main category.
People by occupation can probably stand to be condensed a little further to keep it as a true top-level organizational structure, but this first pass did seem to help. Dugwiki 17:29, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Is this category a duplicate?
I would like clarification on the difference between this category and Category:Occupations. --Vince 12:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- This category organizations people; the occupations category organizes articles on the occupations themselves. Right now they are interlinked so that you can access one from the other which makes sense. --Lquilter (talk) 15:36, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Magistrate
I know two magistrates documented in Wiki and would like to give a Category link to a Magistrate cathegory. Aeolians 19:32, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
