Any more history about the area? Or is there much to tell besides the former industrial zones? I'm guessing it's only been called "Pentagon City" for a short period of time. FWIW I have an old street map (late '50s or so) that shows a point between present-day Pentagon City and Crystal City labeled as "South Washington." -- Gyrofrog (talk) 05:49, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Property

There was a story floating around MCI in the early-1990s that the company owned the land under much of Pentagon City's core, including the two office towers at 601 and 701 S. 12th Street. The story went that MCI had to sell the property under the towers (PCY I and PCY II), which the company had built in the early 80s, in order to make the payroll. Anyone know if there's any truth to the tale? Seandc

Never heard of it before, but it seems highly unlikely to be true. SchuminWeb (Talk) 15:38, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
