[edit] 13k figure may be outdated
If you notice, Mike speculated (before PAX 2006) that PAX 2007 might attract 13,000 visitors. At that point, PAX 2005 had had 9,000 visitors, so it was a reasonable assumption. It would have gone on the basis that PAX 2006 would have had something like 11,000 visitors.
However, fate intervened; PAX 2006 attracted 20,000 visitors. As such, there is no reason to doubt that PAX 2007 will attract somewhat more than 20,000 visitors, possibly somewhere on the order of 30,000. Perhaps a note should be made in the article that the turnout of 2006 would seem to indicate that PAX 2007 will be much larger than originally thought. 69.93.96.202 17:25, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- The estimates for 2007 may be numbers for people who attend, whereas the 2006 numbers may have been attendance-days meaning a 3-day pass counts as 3 people. This makes more sense as I don't think the Meydenbauer Center was capable of housing the amount of people who were said to have attended in 2006. Xnolanx 19:28, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Description
The article description needs modifying, possibly adapting from the main site. Druss666uk 16:55, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PAX 2008 East
Should be include information about the PAX 2008 located on the east coast? They have made public comment stating that there will be a separate, but very similar event on the east coast. So what do people think? MrMacMan 00:33, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
East Coast PAX is something that is still under discussion but has not been announced. So far as I understand, it is not in the works for 2008. If any mention is made of it, it should be left that it has been brought up and is under consideration. (Please remember, the comment regarding an east coast PAX is about two years old now.) [edit] Omegathon 2006
Wich games were played in that Omegathon? The article lacks this info.Vicco Lizcano 22:09, 4 May 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)
[edit] Picture caption
The picture of the crowded Meydenbauer lobby needs a better caption. Something like
PAX attendees crowding the lobby of Bellevue's Meydenbauer Center, 2006
...particularly since PAX isn't at the Meydenbauer anymore. I'd add it, but.... I don't know that that's from 2006. (It's either 04, 05, or 06.) Anyone know for sure what year that pic is from? - Keith D. Tyler ¶ 19:21, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not Completely True
"No such show existed, so PAX was born." This quote ignores the existence of MAGFest, another festival that celebrates video/PC/tabletop gaming. MAGFest started in 2002, two years before PAX. I guess it could be argued that MAGFest is more of a celebration than a show, though... --71.161.57.226 20:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merge Proposal
Someone should probably consolidate the Penny Arcade Expo 2007 article into the PAX 2007 section of this one. -- 24.247.221.200 (talk) 19:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

- This seems like the best course of action. The details which change per year are small enough to not bloat the main article anytime soon. Xnolanx (talk) 21:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PAX qjpreviewth.jpg
Image:PAX qjpreviewth.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
