[edit] Meredith's Cough-laugh

I have it on fair authority that Burgess Meredith smoked like a chimney for decades before Batman, so surely that isn't the reason he cough-laughed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.245.29.229 (talkcontribs) 00:36 17 August 2005 (UTC)

So? It's also a well documented fact that Meredith also created a special type of laugh for the Penguin which was meant to sound similar to an actual penguin call.--70.1.154.194 00:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fan site?

the link at the bottom (The Penguin's Personal Website) appears to be a, while quite possibly well intended and an enthusiastic show of fandom, vanity page. I'd remove it; but there's always the chance someone knows something that I don't. So would the contributor who added it please give an arugment why it should stay (and make this clear on the article itself), lest it be deleted and written off as a personal link? [edit] Nice picture

Uhhh... nice article picture, guys. Nothing suggestive there... *shudder* 142.161.198.239 06:46, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Removed two paragraphs

Removed two paragraphs from section "In other media".

"In The Batman Vs. Dracula, Penguin attempts to search a buried treasure in Gotham Cemetery. When meeting with Joker at the bridge, he was electrocuted by the buzzer. At Gotham Cemetary, Penguin finds a lot of graves, which he became confuse of finding the treasure. Then, he went to a hiding place, and uses his umbrella to open the coffin. Then, Penguin accidently cut himself with umbrella knife, which Dracula was reveived. When Dracula wanted Penguin to be his tomb keeper, Penguin refuses to serve him, which Dracula hypnotizes him. In the end, after Dracula was destroyed, Penguin was back to normal, and taken back to Arkham."

"An episode of the anime series Cowboy Bebop centered on Tongpu (also known as "Mad Pierrot"), a maniacal assassin whose methods, habits, and general character are a clear nod to the Penguin."

Found the first one unclear and unnecessary. The second one too trivial. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.38.65.206 (talk • contribs) 10:30, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] External link

Could someone please explain the value of the "Olyblog" link currently part of this article? Chris Griswold 18:30, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Bibliography

The separate bibliography page for the Penguin has been nominated for deletion. If you care one way or the other, vote here. GentlemanGhost 05:02, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] images

In the section 'The Batman' for the newest cartoon, I reverted the images. One does the job of two. I did, however, use that Kabuki twins pic over on their page.

[edit] Returns -> Comics

Added 2 sentences about how some of the Penguin's appearance in Returns was adapted to the comics (ie, his flipper hands). Thought it was lacking. --Switch 13:11, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I reverted it out., that information was already included in the cartoons section. It hasn't particularly appeared in any canonical comics, and his official appearance still has five fingers.ThuranX 20:55, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Penguin pic

Would anyone mind if I switched the current article picture of Penguin riding some weird bird for something a bit more realistic like this?

Image:Cobblepotpeng.jpg

Not to cause a "DP shuffle" or anything, just to replace the comic cover of him riding the giant ugly bird. JackOfHearts 22:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TB-P.JPG

Image:TB-P.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] The Dark Knight

Freeze Dried Movies is in no way a reliable source for information.

[edit] Possible Contradiction

The introduction states that the Penguin does not theme his crimes around a psychotic obsession, but the biography (first paragraph) states that he commits crimes "with the theme of the various birds he loves". Although a literal reading does not imply a contradiction, a less stringent reading does indicate a contradiction. This may need some clarification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iain marcuson (talkcontribs) 06:15, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Given that the bio reflects a post crisis on infinite earths version, I've removed the sentence, as his 'nightclub owner with underword connections' characteristics are what readers now seee, not the golden/silver age bird themed thief. ThuranX 06:07, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MySpace Profile Layouts

does anyone know of a website that has a wide variety of Batman layouts? I'm looking for one of the Danny DeVito Penguin —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.235.132.245 (talk) 03:21, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
