Penny Dreadful (2006 film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Penny Dreadful is a film directed by Richard Brandes and starring Rachel Miner and Mimi Rogers, planned for release in 2006. It takes its title from the literary genre known for its melodramatic action. The story follows Penny (Miner), a young woman with a phobia of automobiles, who is taken on a long drive by her therapist (Rogers) in the hope of curing her. Their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and they are menaced by an escaped lunatic, forcing Penny to take refuge inside the automobile (a nice ironic touch). In order to survive, she must somehow overcome her phobia and escape from the killer, who prowls outside the car like the shark in JAWS stalking the boat at sea.

The film was shown at 8 Films To Die For in November 2006.
