Pennant Hills Demons AFC

Pennant Hills Demons is an Australian rules football club competing in the Sydney AFL league and based out of the Sydney suburb of Pennant Hills, New South Wales. Their home ground is Ern Holmes Oval.

The club formed in 1971. They were promoted to the top Sydney grade, the SFL (now Sydney AFL Premier Division) in 1977. The club has twice won the premiership. Their first was in 2000, when they defeated North Shore 15.12 (102) to 12.7 (79) at Macquarie Uni. Their second was in 2006, in driving rain on a quagmire at Henson Park; when the Demons scored 8 behinds in a row, all of them on the run, to come from 6 points down to defeat the previously undefeated East Coast Eagles by 2 points. Final scores Pennant Hills 5.20 (50) d East Coast 7.6 (48).

The club produced Lenny Hayes for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League. Mark McVeigh also played for Pennant Hills before being drafted by Essendon Football Club.

Recent events On the 1st of September 2007, the under 18's lost their 1st semi final to north Shore. the 1st grade side lost to St George on that same day at Henson park. Both sides had the double chance yet failed to make to capitalise on it, with the 18's losing to a better North Shore team in the grand final, and the seniors our of the finals race with a preliminary final lose to North shore seniors. The under 18's challenge cup side lost their first elimination final to the southern Sharks. The 3rd grade side has already qualified for the Grand Final. During the Home and Away season, leading the votes in the B&F for 1st grade was Aaron Cristfield- an under 18 for the under 18's premier- Josh Fenaroli for the under 18's challenge- Andrew Grinter and Ashwin Govender
