Penn Counterparts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Counterparts was founded in 1980 as the first coed a cappella group at the University of Pennsylvania. It began as a jazz group and its repertoire consisted primarily of standards. Today it has evolved into a jazz and pop a cappella group, though it still strives to maintain its jazz roots. It has produced 13 albums, including its newest CD, Takeoff, available on the Penn Counterparts website. Its songs have also been featured on the Best of Collegiate a Cappella albums. R&B singer John Legend is an alumnus of the group.
