Penguin Chat is a flash-based MMORPG, that was created by RocketSnail Games[1], which has has greatly lost popularity ever since Club Penguin was created and launched. It is very simple; you use a penguin avatar to chat. Account creation is not needed. This game is not related to Club Penguin although the same creators have made it. Contactmusic.com, a large UK based entertainment web site licensed and modified a version of Penguin Chat from RocketSnail in 2000.

[edit] Worlds

There are three worlds in Penguin Chat. They are:

Name Description
Snow Room This world has nothing in it, as if there were a thick blanket of snow, but nothing else. This is the most popular world in Penguin Chat, considering you are brought into this world at the beginning of the chat session.
North Pole This world includes a cartoon-like pole with red and white stripes that can be clicked on to change the avatar during the chat session.
Crash Site This world features the remains of a damaged excavator facing a frozen lake.

[edit] Characters

There are six characters you can play as on Penguin Chat.[2] They are:

Name Trait
Angus Angus likes to spend time with his guitar and head-bang to his favourite rock bands. He wants to be the first ever penguin to grow long hair, to make himself look "rockstar-ish".
Bob the Rasta Bob was born in the Caribbean, and loves peace. He is very chilled out, and promotes life, love, and unity.
Disco Dirk Hipster and Bee Gees lover, Disco Dirk always wears purple shades and has his hair in an afro.
Ice P Ice P is from downtown Brooklyn, and likes to play rough. An original penguin, he "tells it like it is", and owns more gold chains than P. Diddy.
John the Punk Complete with a punk green mowhawk, John's misspent youth involved becoming a roadie for his favourite punk rock band, and piercing his beak.
Skeeter Skeeter is an extreme sports expert and is a big fan of Tony Hawk. His goal in skateboarding is to do the perfect 1080°. Instead of waddling, he prefers to use his skateboard for self-transport.

[edit] Soccer Penguin Chat

Soccer Penguin Chat is another version of Penguin Chat which allows you to use a penguin avatar in a soccer uniform. Unlike the original version, there are four worlds, free of names. There is also more ease of use in this version; in the original version, you have to click on the avatar and then click where you want to move, but in Soccer Penguin Chat, all you need to do is click where you want to move. This version likely inspired the creation of the Ice Rink room in Club Penguin.
