Penang Chinese Girls' High School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Penang Chinese Girls' High School (PCGHS), better known as "Bing Hua" among the local Chinese community in Penang, is one of the leading girls' schools in Malaysia. It is renowned not only for its academic excellence but also its achievements in other activities.[citation needed]

Although the school and her education system have undergone many changes since its establishment in 1920, one fact remains the same - the school's tradition of producing well-educated, disciplined and refined young ladies year after year.[citation needed] The school motto of Decorum, Honesty, Diligence and Simplicity has aspired the girls to strive for excellence and success in whatever field they have chosen, while maintaining their sense of humility. The strong moral values that are taught at the school enabling the girls to differentiate between right and wrong, and to bear in heart their rich heritage. The strong survival and growth of this school is hugely owed to the never ceasing support and contributions of the local Chinese community. This school has been looked upon by many parents as the ideal school for their daughters. In short, the Penang Chinese Girls' High School has changed the status of the Chinese women race in Malaysia, from meek little wives into bold and determined young ladies that are well-positioned to play key role in today's society.[citation needed]
