[edit] Pete Sears
Dear Pemburyclose, I checked the article's history, and it appears that you were the editor who added the copy/paste copyright violation from http://www.xtrememusician.com/info/artists/profiles/1117.html. Unfortunately, for legal reasons, information cannot be taken from other sites like that. If you wish to include the material you read elsewhere, you'll need to summarize, paraphrase, condense, and then feel free to submit it to the article, citing reliable sources. (See the following: Cite your sources, Manual of style, Layout guide, First article, Article development and How to edit for assistance.) I've also added an answer to your Help desk post. [edit] Pete Sears again
Hi,
It appears that the text you recently added to this article was pulled directly from this page. As mentioned above, it's not okay to just copy text from other websites and put it here. If you are the author of the text on that website, there is a way to officially give your permission to use it. Otherwise, please stick to your own words. --Alynna (talk) 16:23, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi Alynna,
I am the author of the Pete Sears bio which has just been deleted. It was a more condensed version than the first one that was deleted by the last editor, and should provide a good concise platform for other people to work from (adding links to names mentioned in the bio, etc). If possible, as I am the author, I would like to obtain official permission to post the recently deleted Pete Sears bio in Wikipedia. Thanks for keeping an eye on this stuff...this is a wonderful medium and I understand your concern regarding someone just copying and pasting information. All the best, Pemburyclose

As it stads right now, we have no way to ascertain that you are who you claim, and that you are able to release the material under a GFDL license. Until that is cleared up, the material should not be on the page. Also, you should be aware of conflict of interest issues. -- Whpq (talk) 18:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
