Pembroke Township is located in the southeast corner of Kankakee County, Illinois. The population was 2,784 at the 2000 census. It includes the Village of Hopkins Park and Pembroke.
The Pembroke Township was created in February 1877. It had been set off from parts of St. Anne and Momence townships.
It is located at 41.063753 N, -87.593731 W. It has 135.95 km² (52 sq mi). (52.49 square miles) of land. It has 1,050 housing units.

The township is governed by an elected Town Board of a Supervisor and four Trustees. The Township also has an elected Assessor, Clerk, Highway Commissioner and Supervisor. The Township Office is located at PO Box A, Hopkins Park, IL 60944.
