I could not find information about whether and how often SHU inmates are allowed to receive visitors. AxelBoldt 01:41, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
SHU inmates can be visited on weekends after they have been cleared for visiting by filling out a form sent to them by the inmate and returned to the prison authorities who, after investigation, will determine visiting privileges and inform the visitor directly. With no criminal history, these are usually granted. The visitor must call the prison on the Monday prior to visiting and have his/her name put on the visitors list.
Be careful when you're trying to visit someone in the SHU at Pelican Bay. It's not uncommon to drive an immense distance only to get there on your scheduled visiting day and be turned away for some reason or another. Try to call not only the Monday before to schedule your visit, but also the day before you leave for your visit to confirm everything. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.135.115.136 (talk) 06:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I see mention of "third degree burns" and I am pretty sure this is incorrect. It's a common mistake. AFAIK third degree burns are impossible to get from "hot water". A third degree burn involves charred skin. You can't char skin unless you get past the boiling point of water. At most, second degree burns would be involved. Severe blistering. First degree burns are mere redness, as one would get from a mild sunburn. The common mistake is to assume 1st degree is the worst, when 3rd degree is in fact worse than 1st or 2nd degree. -- 3:43, 1 April 2008 (PST)

My two Southsiding Sureno Mexican Mafia Gang Members are currently placed in the same facility and I'm like what a trip! Is it a potential family reunion? I know this could be their caramel to their Starbucks Frappucino. Thats basicly why im bothering to ask of you maybe a brief walk passed one another or I'm not really knowing how the shit goes but the littler one thats his Mentaur and YESS! Only good things shall come from this. Thanx....Ms. Herlinda Angel Arellanop.s.my oldest tio never gets out so, you know.
