In English:
The plant was given its name by Hugel, but a formal description provided by Endlicher, and published by Hugel in Botanisches Archiv der Gartenbaugesellschaft der Ossterreichischen Kaiserstaates
It is understandable that there would be some confusion as to who is the author. But in the end it is pretty straightforward. Who published the description is irrelevant. The author is the person who wrote the formal description. Therefore the name of this plant is "Pelargonium littorale Endl." as stated by APNI, not "Pelargonium littorale Hugel" as incorrectly stated by FloraBase. It is optional to include the person who came up with the name, so "Pelargonium littorale Hugel ex Endl." is also acceptable.

- I will use your second suggestion, this gave some support to my initial decision. Thanks for clarifying that part. I will check the references more thoroughly, there are a couple of things I need to sort out with the species. Cygnis insignis 14:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC) IPNI
