Pell James (born April 30, 1977) is an American actress.

James grew up in Virginia with three sisters. Her mother, Diane, is a drug abuse counselor and her biological father is a lawyer. Her parents split up and now her mother is married to a retired State Department employee. After her high school graduation, James attended New York University, but left to pursue for dreams as an actress.

Her first break came in 1999 when she appeared in the indie film Black and White. The film was originally rated NC-17, but was given an R rating after a sex scene was edited. In the early 2000s, she worked on the hit television series Law & Order and Law & Order:SVU. In 2005, she briefly appeared in the Jim Jarmusch film Broken Flowers and earned her first starring role for the film Undiscovered. Between 2005 and 2007, she appeared in a number of indie films which included Confess, The King, and Neighborhood Watch. In 2007, she had a memorable scene in David Fincher's Zodiac.
