Pelawatte is a Colombo suburb near to the new Parliament of Sri Lanka. Pelawatte considered as part of Battaramulla city. This area is under the limits of Kaduwela Pradeshya Sabha.
Ministry of Education 'Isurupaya' and Department of Examination located in Pelawatte. The Independent Television Network (ITN) also located near to Pelawatte.
This is a residential area where expatriate and local families residing in.
