Talk:Peking to Paris

[edit] map
I am thinking there is a mistake in the route maps shown [1] and [2] - because the italian prince is described as going on a detour to St Petersburg and then driving back to Moscow - this would mean the race route did not officially go to St Petersburg? or perhaps there is no "official" route and this was an approximation --Astrokey44 16:51, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- The Prince did detour to S.Petersburg to attend a gran ball: he had already gained a twenty dayd advantage on the second car. There was no official route, but just a suggested one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.221.25.134 (talk • contribs)

[edit] How long was the path?
The Itala's journey was nearly 16.000 km long, that is nearly 10.000 miles, and not 12.000. The source is the prince Borghese preface of the Barzini's book, first edition Milan, 1908.
