[edit] Features

The school is divided into several pods, or sections. There is A Pod, for the sixth graders, B Pod, for the seventh graders, and C Pod, for the eighth graders. Also, there are more pods, used for Unified Arts and other classes. In each pod, there is a computer lab, in addition to the one already in the media center.

[edit] Classes

The school week is divided into 6 days. While this may seem impossible, as students go to school for only five days per week, the days simply continue on. For example, if the school year started on a Monday, it would be Day 1, with Friday being Day 5. The following Monday would be Day 6, the Tuesday Day 1, etc.

Each student is required to take health, art, FCSC, gym, and a music class. For music class, a person could take chorus, band, or general music. Language options start in seventh grade. Students have a choice of French and Spanish in 7th grade. In 8th Grade Latin, German, and Italian are added to these choices.

[edit] PMS gossip incident

In January 2008, a student of Peirce created a cyberbulling blog about other students. It contained numerous libelous entries. Several students were called to the principal's office as a result. There, they were lectured by the school police officer. [1]
