Peggy Lam Pei Yu-dja

Peggy Lam Pei Yu-dja (林貝聿嘉), known as Peggy Lam, is an activist in Hong Kong. She participates many volunteer organisations and committees in Hong Kong Government. She is the CEO of The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong.

Peggy was born in Pei family and thus name Pei Yu-dja(貝聿嘉). She is the younger nephew of Pei Ieoh-ming (I. M. Pei), a famous architect.

Peggy graduated from University of Shanghai with a bachelor degree in Arts. She received a certificate in family planning from the University of Chicago and a certificate in Public Health Administration from the University of Michigan.

She was a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. She was also a member of Legislative Council and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and also the Chairman of Wan Chai District Council.

Peggy was appointed as the Justice of the Peace in 1981. She later awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1985, the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1993. After the establishment of HKSAR, she was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (S.B.S.) in 1998 and the Gold Bauhinia Star (G.B.S.) in 2003.
