Pegeen Hanrahan (born c. 1966) is mayor (as of 2006) of Gainesville, Florida, her native city. Described by The Nation as a "vegetarian, bike-riding environmentalist", Hanrahan has been active in politics since her teens. An environmental engineer, she was elected to the city commission in 1995, and was elected mayor in 2004. In the 2007 mayoral election she was re-elected to another term.

Hanrahan has been married to Tony Malone since 2003. They had their first daughter, Evyleen, in 2005.She recently had her first son, Quinn, in March 2007.[1]

Mayor Hanrahan was re-elected on March 6, 2007 beating her opponent Wesley Watson with 73% of the vote.[2] It should also be noted she received her Bachelors degree from the University of Florida.
