Facebook

This article is the only GA about a website. Its 39kb; is that too long? It also needs a few more sources but other than that I'm trying to figure out what else to do with it. Any ideas concerning how to prepare the article for FAC would be greatly appreciated. — L1AM (talk) 22:23, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

  • About the references, the external links in the references should be cited properly according to WP:CITE; {{Cite web}} might be useful here. Per WP:CONTEXT, only years with full dates (not just months) should be linked. Thanks, AndyZ 22:54, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the quick response Andy! I unlinked the incomplete dates. I'll try and start fixing the references when I have the chance. — L1AM (talk) 23:43, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
  • And about the length of the article, while it isn't too long, I would suggest creating subpages, like History of Facebook, and then summarizing the content of those subarticles in the main article. AndyZ 22:56, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
  • On Feb. 15, I created Facebook's use in investigations as a child article. That took some of the listcruft out but I guess we should slim the main article even more. I've added the {{verylong}} template for now. — L1AM (talk) 23:58, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
  • I went ahead and boldly created List of Facebook features. This has changed the main article from 40kb to 30kb. At this size I have removed the verylong template. I don't think the history section should be split off at this time. One problem with the splitting off of the features section was it removed three screenshots from the article. Hmm... — L1AM (talk) 00:34, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
  • I think it's pretty recent, but there's a new feature on Facebook called Flyers, where you can purchase flyers for a makeshift bulletin board. Similarly, you can also by adspace to promote events, you can list events, and there's even a March Madness Pool. Just some things I didn't see after I looked quickly. PJ 16:17, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Actually, there is a little blurb about the Flyers in Facebook#Overview. (The Flyers used to be called "Announcements".) Events are discussed in a subpage at List of Facebook features#Groups and Events. I don't think there is a mention of the March Madness Pool and I hesitate to add specific ad campaigns but feel free to if you think it should be included. Thanks for glancing it over though! — L1AM (talk) 23:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
