Thank you. Incidentally, you really don't need to be sorry to have stayed neutral— not only is it your prerogative, but if fact your duty to speak up if you don't feel comfortable about a candidate. And when I said I'd mind your fear that I might be overzealous with the deletion, I wasn't sucking up to change anyone's mind. I will be careful. :-)
Now off to finish the thanks-spamming. — Coren (talk) 23:15, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for contacting you out of the blue, but I've seen you deleting a bunch of articles that I speedied and you also commented on another AfD of mine. I found this article, and am really close to AfDing it, but I'm just not sure. Would you mind taking a look at my concerns on the talk page and giving me an idea on whether AfD is appropriate, or whether cleanup might salvage it? Thanks. Absolutely
Thanks. Actually, there were two Wikibreaks. Last June my ferret was dying of lymphoma, which made it hard for me to think about editing. The lengthy one this year was due to a combination of factors piling up on me. I was busy in real life, which made it hard to find time. Then my computer broke down, making it hard to edit from home. I was limited to editing from my employer's computers at work and the Largo Library's computers. I had changed my monobook.js, and whenever I tried to log on an Iexplorer browsered computer, it locked up. (Something I doubt the library's IT people appreciated at the time.) So I wound up using my alternate account to check its watchlist when I could get to the library and use their's. Which dropped me to about 20 edits a month on that account adn none on this one. In August, I had the time to address my computer problems and got mine going again. Then I realized I could fix my monobook.js with my alternate user. With this account working again, my wiki addiction took over and I started editing again at my previous rate. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 14:41, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, part II
Thanks for your comments on History of SpamBritain. One man's meat is another man's poisson, it seems. It's always astounding to me how people feel quite free to start with their flamethrowers set on "burn to the ground and leave no ashes". I think I'm going to take my own advice of the other day, take a few days off the thankless task of new page patrol, and work on a couple of articles that *I* want to work on. I'm starting to think that Wikipedia is like a session of duplicate -- every so often you get handed an undeserved top score, and every so often you get handed your head on a plate for making the value bid. And you know what? I'm just going to start deleting stuff from my talk pages. The vituperation was amusing at first, and now it's just pesky, and I don't need any more pesky. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:03, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- LOL yeah, I'm grateful for the rollback button for that reason alone. Speaking of which, I'm going to ask you to keep an eye on my personal pages for about 24 hours. It's US Thanksgiving, giving vandals more free time, and I dealt with a particularly persistent vandal last night, User:Big Saltine, who finished his career of abuse by asking for me to "go on probation" as part of his unsuccessful request to be unblocked from a permanent block. I figure it's going to take this young man about 12 hours to work out that he can go to a friend's place and open a new account, and I'm going to be in public hearings all day today. And while I build up the inevitable sockpuppet case, and crank up the full majesty of the Wikipedia response to vandals, I figure he's going to leave traces of his ego scattered about until then. He's a pouty little cracker!! Accounting4Taste:talk 15:04, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey just wanted to say thanks for reviewing my edits! I've got one question though. Did you mean just in general the way my sig looks or the size of the coding. I don't mean any disrespect or anything but I checked and you sig coding is only about 15 characters more than mine so I was a little confused. The reason I ask is because that's the first time I've ever heard that my sig might be too big. The only thing I've heard about my sig is I have gotten a few compliments on it. Thanks for clearing this up! Deflagro C/T 00:32, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I see you speedied Talk:ConceptBase with a G8 some time ago. Can you tell me what happened to the corresponding article? Also, I see that User:Manfred-jeu noticed this as well, and wrote the following in User talk:Pedro/Archive 11 as an IP:Hi Pedro, I regret that you deleted the page on ConceptBase (which I wrote). The system is a prototype used for research and education. I don't see why the page was classified to be an advertisement. But it's prpobably your decision. Cheers: Manfred Jeusfeld. Hey. Thanks for extending the protection on there. Originally, KrakatoaKatie was the admin that was going to help us on the page, but she seems to have gone MIA for the past few days. Hi Pedro, I'm having trouble deciding whether or not Special:Contributions/Localrules these contributions are with consensus. I'm leaning towards no, as I haven't seen any discussion, and because the account is fairly new. It all seems very POINTY in my view, but I'd like to get an other pair of eyes in on it. RfA questions
I just wanted to make a few comments regarding the question you posed on NrDg's RfA. Regarding the UAA report of "Ceira", I agree that it was incorrect. The user was not totally familiar (it was nearly 2 months ago) with policy at the time. The second message should probably not have been posted. The user should have been blocked because they had vandalized past the final warning just 2 hours before (I surely would have blocked the user). NrDg could have handled the third situation better, though. However, the user was blocked by Rlevse as a sockpuppet afterwards. :-P Nishkid64 (talk) 22:38, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- I know that was your intention. I just have a habit of commenting on issues involving my RfA candidates. :) Nishkid64 (talk) 22:48, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello
I have been trying to start an article on Wikipedia about my band Mixed Fruit Jam. This is my first article on Wikipedia. I am not sure why you have requested deletion of this page. re: RFA
Thanks. My personal view is that RFA's tend to have a "momentum" sometimes, especially if there are a slew of support or oppose votes at once. I think it's unfair to let an RFA gather momentum before everyone is even aware it exists, if that makes sense. --Spike Wilbury ♫ talk 14:32, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

You deleted a page about Carol Realini, explaining that it "is a CV." I'm a little confused because I checked several pages about individuals (Steve Jobs was the first ;) and they all read as CVs. I think everyone there believes (and is glad) that you did in fact do something right by simply letting the chips fall as they may instead of acting immediately to counteract what you considered an unprovoked attack. In fact- although you may not agree with this- I think that it was a good example of how things should work with regards to conflicts of this sort. So thanks for keeping things penned up in a small area so as to avoid a repeat of previous eruptions that seem to have occurred around the vicinity of K.W.; -Epthorn (talk) 19:11, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Closing AfDs
Is there a resource that you can point me to that is something like a step-by-step guideline for how to close an AfD? I am so overwhelmed with the avalanche of sheer rudeness that accompanies new page patrol that I need to find something else useful I can do, and I think that would be a good place to start to be useful. Anything you can point to would be gratefully received. (And I'm starting to have the distinct feeling that there needs to be a different way to do new page patrol; one that doesn't involve the deleting administrator becoming the scratching post for every bruised ego whose precious page has been judged unworthy. But that's a topic for a different day. I note that you've been congratulated for keeping your temper lately and I surely need to keep mine -- I'm not only going to bite a newbie some time soon, I'm going to eviscerate one -- and so I've decided to change my focus in order to keep from doing that.)
