[edit] Question

Hi. I would like to ask you one thing.

Septrya

[edit] Miranfree is back!

Hello Pedro. I am writing just to tell you that lunatic User:Miranfree is back trying to push his PoV fantasy that the Mirandese are a different nationality other than Portuguese. Thought you might be interested. Cheers! The Ogre 18:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

He is also presente at the Commons, under the name Mircommons, where he uploaded a supposed flag of the Vale de Miranda, a flag, present in his Wikipedia user page, he tried, and I am sure will try again, to place at the Terra de Miranda article. The Ogre 23:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lapa Church

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lapa Church, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Olá Pedro! I looked at the deleted page, and it was indeed a nice stub. It's a pity the deletion happened while you weren't watching. The note which Jeepday put on the page was:

A good faith effort to find references has failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources in order to comply with notability requirements. The search for references has included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from clicking these links:
Find sources: Lapa Churchnews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

There are two things you can do about it:

  1. You could follow the suggestions in the note and back up the notability. (Personally, I find it silly, too, that our standard doesn't allow an article about a landmark, while it allows adding all kinds of video game characters. Unfortunately, I'm too busy in other areas to fight for an improvement for that standard, so I just live with it.)
  2. You could add the same text to an existing article where it fits, such as one about the place where the church is.

For your convenince, I am recreating the article in your user space here: User:PedroPVZ/Lapa Church. — Sebastian 03:44, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turiacus?

Hi. I happened reading the article about Turiacus, and I believe you contributed to it. Have you any sources about Turiacus? In what language does "tor" or "tur" mean lord or king? Thanks! Happy editing, Goochelaar (talk) 14:42, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] beautiful and fascinating Portuguese language

Hi. I'm LearnPortuguese and I found your page through the talk pages of other users. I'm real interested in the Portuguese language. I think it's beautiful and fascinating. But I'm really busy with college, which started yesterday, so I won't be on Wikipedia nearly as much as I usually am (which is of course way too much). So put my user page and talk page on your watchlist and contribute if you want. :-) I've got some really neat discussions going. Your page says you're a native speaker of Portuguese, so I thought you'd be a good contributor to my talk page. :-) In advance, obrigada pela sua ajuda. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 23:49, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Iilp.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Iilp.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Triton (moon)

Hey Pedro. I'm in the middle of a massive push to get the English language article to GA or FA level; however, a lot of the article was translated from the Portuguese version (which I'm assuming you wrote), and I haven't been able to find citations for it. If you could give me the sources you used, I would be very grateful. Thanks. Serendipodous 17:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of List of countries by formation dates

I have nominated List of countries by formation dates, an article you created, for deletion. [edit] Image source problem with Image:MapaRomano-Golfo de Cádis.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:MapaRomano-Golfo de Cádis.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 14:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
