[edit] Reasons for Failure

  • Far to soon after previous RFA

[edit] Moving Forward

Let's address these concerns.

  • Etiquette is simple. Just think before you hit the submit button. The most important thing is how will this be read. Remember that a joky or srcastic remark can be totally misinterpreted. Remember that at RFA any displeasent edit summaries will be very visible.
  • AFD & Policy Knowledge. These can go hand in hand. Any XFD discussion is a great way to both demonstrate and imporve policy knowledge. Read some debates without commenting. Read the linked policies. Read the better more often cited guidelines - you don't need to know the by heart, but you need to know they exist.
  • Quantity. Slow Down ! Try inputing at areas where machine tools are no use. As well as any deletion discussion try WP:HELPDESK. That's a great way of demostrating both knowledge of WP policy and process as well as being far more cheery than WP:AIV or WP:UAA!
Thanks for the suggestions. I have slowed down. And I stopped with machine tools (Huggle). I'm going to work on voting and closing on AFD's, rereading the policies, and of course: Using "Show Preview" more often. Thanks for the suggestions and the help! - Milk's favorite Cookie 21:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
One question I have from my last RFA: Question # 6, my answer. WP:BAN clearly states:
Any edits made in defiance of a ban may be reverted to enforce the ban, regardless of the merits of the edits themselves. As the banned user is not authorized to make those edits, there is no need to discuss them prior to reversion.

While Nousernamesleft says:

Additionally, he has a terrible answer to question six...

- Who is correct? Thanks. - Milk's favorite Cookie 21:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

This lies on a slight ambiguity in the question .... ..is discovered to have made a sock.... If it is a suspected sock, and the contributions are positive, reversions would not be acceptable. But assuming that it is a confirmed sock of a banned user then WP:BAN is clear - everything can be reverted as a banned user is not permitted to edit Wikipedia. Your answer was correct but the question could be interpreted another way.
Further reference; see this conversation. And note when I say above that ...everything can be reverted as a banned user... it does not mean that it absolutely must be reverted. For example; in the situation given above a confirmed sock of a banned user may have made three or four good spelling corrections to an article to lend credence to their contributions. Clearly these would not be reverted. Pedro :  Chat  10:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Another major concern in my RFA was lack of article space contributions. Anyways, I've definitely taken care of that, with 5 recently promoted featured lists. I've also been voting in AFD's (above) and have participated in WP:RFPP more (from my (last?) editor review.) And of course, etiquette. Mistakes on talk pages have jumped from 100% of the time to 99% to using show preview way more often. Thanks, Milk’s Favorite Cookie (Talk) 02:18, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
That's excellent. Featured Lists are so overlooked with everyone focused on FA's and DYK's. I'll have a once over of the AFD stuff. What about other deletion debates - e.g. MFD? They can really help you with project knowledge. Pedro :  Chat  13:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Pedro, I was wondering if you could do an evaluation on my contributions as well? Unfortunately, I haven't been doing much WP:MFD, AFD work, but have been concentrating more on the mainspace. Thanks for the help. « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie ( talk / contribs) 20:36, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Will do sir, but it may be a couple of days. Pedro :  Chat  20:45, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Pedro you might have forgotten about the request. Regardless, I started an editor review and hope I can receive your comments here, or there. Thanks, « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 19:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
